My name is Adela Sánchez and I am a 30-year-old Peruvian professional translator and interpreter who graduated from the Universidad Femenina del Sagrado Corazón (University of the Sacred Heart for Women). So far, I have been working for 8 years as a translator with prestigious institutions all over the country, and have dealt with a wide variety of documents related to technical, financial, social, legal, educational and theological issues, mainly in English and Italian.

At the same time, I have been able to enhance my teaching skills in different institutions. At present, I am a teacher of "Federico Villarreal Distance Education College" (Escuela Universitaria de Educación a Distancia- EUDED/ UNFV), which prepares English teachers for graduation.

In addition, I have worked as a translator and interpreter at the Ministry of Transportation and Communications in Peru for approximately two years. My responsibilities include the translation and revision of technical documentation for the different Ministry Bureaux. Although I am well-acquainted with road transportation- related terminology, I am more concerned with water transportation topics. In this regard, I translated one of the biggest and most ambitious plans for the development of Peruvian ports, the Peruvian Port Development Plan, aimed at providing the basis for the creation of efficient and effective logistic chains, thus making ports become integrated logistic nodes to facilitate national and international commerce as well as passengers in transit.

I was also involved in the translation of the Peruvian Intermodal Transportation Plan, of great importance for the 2004-2023 transportation infrastructure development.

Due to the current diversification of a translator and interpreter professional services, I had the opportunity to work as a biligual revisor of two theological books from Italian into Spanish. One of them was published in 2004 by Trotta, a Spanish Publishing Company. Likewise, I was responsible for interpreting at important events conducted and hosted by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC).
