Danish term

Kapitalandele vs kapitalinteresser

Danish to English Bus/Financial Accounting Notes to financial statements
Hi - I'm looking for the most accurate translation of kapitalinteresser in the following. I've been using "shares" for "kapitalandele" throughout the document. Does "participations" work in the following for "kapitalinteresser"? Thanks for your help!

Kapitalandele i associerede virksomheder opfylder definitionerne på både kapitalinteresser og associerede virksomheder, men er i årsregnskabet præsenteret som kapitalandele i associerede virksomheder, da denne benævnelse mere præcist beskriver virksomhedens involvering i de pågældende virksomheder.

trade & equity investment vs. equity interest

Participations IMO is or are borderline translatorese for kapitalinteresser (vested interests, Bailey, and legalistically incongruous out of a *personal* probate vesting or employees' *personal* vs. corporate shareholding or stockholding scheme context)

'..yield from capital share (kapitalandel) in an associated company' in the first ProZ weblink:

I disagree with '(capital) share' for kapitalandel (Bailey' dictionary draws s blank thereon). but agree with IATE's equity investment.

Otherwise, pls. note: “The term 'trade investment' is normally understood as an investment made by a *company* in shares or debentures of *another company*, to promote the trade or business of the first company” and with caution:

'Generally Trade investments means an investments which are in relation with business. Trade investments are required for the business. In some terms they are known as Fixed (-)Assets Investment*. Non trade investments are just made for earning extra income. Non(-) trade investments are not required for the business.' *No: IMO aka fixed-asset trade investments or trade investments held as fixed assets*

There is - contrary to a common ProZ misconception in other lingos - no need to translate the andel as a share, stock(s) or holding as trade investment subsumes such a contribution - cf. in the UK, 'franked investment income' means the pre-taxed share dividends received on shares or debenture interest (?) as a trade investment by one (BrE usually) company / (AmE routinely) corporation in another.

IATE: da beholdninger af aktier og andre kapitalinteresser COM en holdings of equity and other participations (?)

disagree Christopher Schröder : Wrong way around for a start /// Do your research and you will see that kapitalinteresser is the closer to trade investments. It’s a new thing introduced in recent years. No point guessing./// 564 questions + 0 answers = not happening /// with what?

Funny. When I saw the disagree, I just knew it was you. It's NOT the wrong way round - a cheap jibe. You need to grasp *shareholdings as trade investments* // then post your own answer distinguishing the two linguistically & corporately /// you need help.
