German term

Dermatombezug

German to English Medical Medical (general)
This term appears in description of a patient with radicular pain syndrome. My best guess is "dermatome covering." Also not sure what the abbreviation "TH 8" immediately following it stands for; possibly type of vertebra?

"In der Bildgebung zeigte sich eine Kompressionsfraktur des BWK 8. Bei Aufnahme berichtete Frau ... über reißende, einschnürende, elektrisierende Schmerzen mit Dermatombezug TH 8."

Discussion

Lirka Jun 5, 2009:
Correct, but also Th is used :)
David Tracey, PhD Jun 5, 2009:
T8 rather than Th8 The English abbreviation for the 8th thoracic vertebra is normally T8.

The T8 dermatome is by definition the area of skin innervated by the T8 spinal nerve
