Sono ancora alle prese con i mille tipi diversi di falene... presto le odierò, credo! :o)
Stavolta non riesco a trovare l'equivalente italiano (o latino) di tale "notch-winged geometer moth". Di lei so solo che dovrebbe essere giallina.
Il contesto dice poco o niente purtroppo: "The notch-winged geometer moth appears in the early autumn, when leaves turn yellow and blotchy. Its colour and wing shape allow it to bend in with the leaves".

Il nome latino dovrebbe essere questo, controlla anche su questo link.
Proseguo le ricerche e vediamo se riesco a darti qualche altra informazione. Dovrebbe però far parte dei cosiddetti Geometridi (tipo di falene):

In italiano mi verrebbe da tradurlo "geometride dalle ali lobate" perché, se la falena è quella della foto, le ali sembrerebbero avere una conformazione a lobi. Ed effettivamente esistono dei lepidotteri che hanno ali lobate, gli Pteroforidi per la precisione. Guarda qui:

Ma una traduzione ufficiale parrebbe non esistere e quindi prima di osare con una improvvisata, bisognerebbe capire se il testo e il cliente consentono certe libertà o se invece è meglio andare sul classico e lasciare il nome scientifico.

In _A Field Guide to Insects: America North of Mexico (Peterson Field Guides)_ di Richard E. White, Donald J. Borror e Roger Tory Peterson (su Amazon è disponibile la funzione Search Inside) trovo che notch-winged geometer moth è _Deuteronomous magnarius_, che però dovrebbe essere _Deuteronomos magnarius_ (Guenée).
