questo tipo di costruzione sembra aver avuto origine a Long Island e puo' essere a due o piu' piani sfalsati (split).
E' spesso di legno [pensa appunto alle tipiche case di campagna (ranch) o suburbane americane, che hanno telaio e rivestimento di legno].
