CBGB

un personaggio sta suonando una canzone (Lonely Planet Boy dei New York Dolls) e un altro gli dice: cease that abomination now. What, you think this is CBGB's? We're on a ship boy there is a job to be done.

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com May 6, 2005:
One last comment: I've managed to emai the author of the text and here's what he said: do you mean CBGB's? CBGB's was/is a legendary punk
> club in the bowery area
> of new york, it is where blondie and the ramones
> started, it began indeed as
> a country bluegrass venue until the ramones started
> playing there.
So really my question would be if anyones know an Italian club that could be compared to this...?
Thanks everyone
Non-ProZ.com May 6, 2005:
Micheal, thank you. I think I'll leave the English name for now. I'm just wondering how many people in Italy will understand what it means. I'll think about it.
Non-ProZ.com May 6, 2005:

hth, ciao, e buon weekend

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer.

Musica Country BlueGrass - explanation

I don't know if you can translate in Italian the term.
Ir owuld mean "Musica Country BlueGrass" originating from the West VA/Kentucky area
From the URL: http://www.cbgb.com/history1.htm
The question most often asked of me is, "What does CBGB stand for?"
I reply, "It stands for the kind of music I intended to have, but not the
kind that we became famous for: COUNTRY BLUEGRASS BLUES."

I do not think that you can interpret or translate properly Country Music BlueGrass. BlueGrass is like a Trademark and it was coined because it came from states where the grass had a bluish color to it. Hence the name BlueGrass Music.
La casa della musica country would be a general statement for country music which can be from any of the southern or northwestern states of US and which varies in tone form area to area

Hi Shezan...Since you are great at making statements like\" great explanation as usual but this time is a little out of focus \" and since you are the expert in Blue Grass Country Music (I lived in Georgia and Kentucky (the Blue Grass State)\" tell me at least where am I out of \"FOCUS\" ehhh..!!
Peer comment(s):

neutral Tommaso Benzi : great explanation as usual but this time is a little out of focus. Michael don't get me wrong, but in this case it's just the name of a club. No need to explain the origin of the term.

English term (edited): CBGB's

CBGB's

Life during wartime" (vedi link).
