Online ho trovato dei riscontri con il termine inglese usato anche in italiano. Ma vorrei essere sicura che non vi sia un termine italiano.

La traduzione è suggerita dalla definizione di "clamshell" ritrovata nell'ottimo Dictionary of Automotive Terms che ti segnalo (www.motorera.com/dictionary/car-dic.htm):
"A shape which has a bottom and a top but is hinged at one end so that it can be opened to expose its interiors"
Nel Marolli (2007), che probabilmente hai già consultato, il termine è tradotto "una delle porte di un portellone a 2 battenti", ma in questo caso si riferisce agli aeroplani.
