English term

firm plan

English to Hungarian Bus/Financial manufacturing, production, industry
This is a manufacturing expression for planning production orders. In this context, production orders can be planned or firm planned. It can mean two things for me

1) Firm planned ones are planned not for a customer but for the consumption of the manufacturing firm ? So: firm planned = planned for the firm.

2) Another meaning can be that planned p.o. is a plan when "I think I'm gonna produce this product because I think it can be sold to someone", and firm planned can mean "I surely will produce this product because I have an order for this". So: firm planned = firmly planned, surely planned.

You're long on explanations, but short on context :-). Is it used as a verb or as a noun? In what immediate context?

A firm planned order is a production order that shall be fulfilled in any case (usually because there is a firm commitment behind). Mentioning the planned character is only necessary to indicate that this is not a released order yet, on the other hand, to confirm that this is a firm one is useful to indicate that if there is, for any reason, a cutback in the production, this is a "don't-touch-me" issue.
