Nesrin Oct 21, 2006:
The other key difference between a bus and a coach is that a bus is restricted to a speed of 59 mph/ 95 kph, whereas a coach can go above 60 mph."

Nesrin Oct 21, 2006:
See here: "A coach is a vehicle that is designed for longer-distance travel (...) In comparison, a bus is designed for what is termed "stage carriage use", where there is frequent and regular entry and exiting of the vehicle ...
Nesrin Oct 21, 2006:
Hi Omar - Personally I'd use one and the same word for "buses" and "coaches". They are both حافلات. The difference between the two can't be reflected in the Arabic translaiton, unless you add a footnote explaining the specific characteristic of each one.
Ali Al awadi Oct 21, 2006:
buses
I think using حافلة للتعبير عن
bus
Ali Al awadi Oct 21, 2006:
bus
bus
coach
regards
Ali Al awadi Oct 21, 2006:
Hi Omar
Any means of transport that carry passengers can be called
So if you call bus

Thanks for the answer. It is a vehicle carrying many passengers; used for public transport. But we cannot give the same term to Bus and Coach. Any other suggestions?

I'd rather opt for
Note from asker:
Thanks. But if we use حافلة, then what about bus?
