Nesrin Jan 6, 2007:
Thanks to eng_ara, we finally have the added context we needed!!
Nesrin Jan 6, 2007:
Hi Hossam, if you have the whole text, it would be useful to post the preceding sentence(s), which would make this part of the text clearer (typical editor's quote on what?)
Ali Al awadi Jan 6, 2007:
According to Kudoz rules, one has to send a term at a time.

Regards
Hossam Sabry (X) (asker) Jan 6, 2007:

"... I'm a journalist so perhaps I see things slightly differently from most of your respondents. I know that you can't expect the media to simply play the role of AIDS educators. We are all hard pressed to get our stories into print or onto air. There's no way the commercial media can devote heaps of space to AIDS intervention. A typical editor's quote will be: "I don't want worthy, give me sexy." That's what so many NGOs don't seem to understand. They think that just because the issues are so important we should be running educational stories every day.

لا أريد (شيئا) قيما , أعطني (شيئا) جنسيا/مثيرا

هذا الشيء قد يكون صوره أو مقاله أو غيرهما حسب السياق
Peer comment(s):

agree Nesrin : I would stick with مثيرا rather than جنسيا. As we can see from the text provided by eng_ara, "sexy" here isn't used in the literal sense, but (as so often nowadays) simply in the sense of "appealing" or "exciting".

أبحث عن الإثارة وليس الموضوعية

أبحث عن المثير وليس الجدير
تقال في مجال الإعلام بمعني أن الإثارة والسبق الصحفي أهم بكثير من مجرد سرد الحقائق المجردة
