Most people I know use the nouns TANZEEL (for "download"), TAS"EED (for "upoad"), and TAHMEEL or TARKEEB(for "installation").

Of course, the verb forms will conjugate according to context (gender, number, tense, etc.). Since you provided no context, it will no be possible to specify the appropriate form among the many dozen forms for each verb.

The printed dictionaries seem less consistent in this regard than ordinary language users.

Apologies for typos:

Developers of Arabic web pages and application interface seem to prefer the gerund noun form, rather than the imperative verb. For instance, instead of \"edit,\" they prefer \"editing,\" and so on.

Following this custom, I would suggest the noun TANZEEL.

On some music web site, where downloading a song essentially means storing it on your resident drive, the developers preferred using the verb HIFZ

حفظ

which means \"safekeeping\" or \"storage.\" I wonder if such terms fit in with your specific context.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you for your help. If "download" appears as a button, the most sutiable one should be HIFZ or TANZEEL?"

TANZEEL = تنزيل

The above answer is the noun form (verbal noun) of the term "download". (For example: This is the download I got off of the internet.)

If, however, you wish to use it as a verb in an imperative/command (for example: Download this information for me, please), it changes form somewhat:

NAZZIL = نزّل = Download (you, singular)

NAZZILEE = نزّلي = Download (you, singular, female)

NAZZILOO = نزّلوا = Download (you, plural)

Hope this helps!

Cheers, Glenn
