Danish term

hjemsøger

Danish to English Law/Patents Human Resources
Vi hjemsøger eventuelle lønrefusioner for kursus, uddannelse og efteruddannelsesforløb.

This seems like a strange usage. I am assuming it means to apply salary reimbursements for courses, training or continuing education classes.

I think they just mean "sager", unless they have taken up more ghostly pursuits.

I meant "søger", not "sager".

Danish term (edited): hjemsøge/r

(applicant) reclaim/ing; (IRS/ tax authorities) seek/ing 'clawback' of

The prefix of hjem- literally in DAN & NOR connotes re-, such as hjemfall in the first example sentence: reversion to a previous state of affairs, to a reversioner (superior landlord or -lady) or the state.

Rather than a haunting, if eventuelle lønrefusioner are any pay refunds for tax purposes, then they are sought to be 'clawed back', usually by the Revenie e.g. tax authorities rather than the taxpayer who seeks a refund.
