Danish term

venskabsby

Danish to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
Although 'friendship town' does exist on Google, it sounds a bit odd in English. Is this the same as a 'twinned town'?

sister city

In North America (and Australia?) we call these "sister cities." In Europe these are usually called "twin towns" or "Partnerstädte." In the former Soviet block they're "города-побратимы."

Peer comment(s):

agree Christine Andersen : The number of ´twins´ some towns have is impressive, but that´s what they are called. I live in Ebeltoft, where there is an Arbogavej named after our twin town :-)
