liquidación

Often translated into English as settle, it's all over the place in Spanish when you talk about paying debts.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Jennifer Levey : A liquidación is a financial operation showing the amount of outstanding debt; a discharge/finiquito is a legal document that is signed by the parties once the debt reaches zero, and serves to formally terminate the contract.
