Joanna, Hats down for the pro :). Zgadzam się że jest to jedna z możliwych interpretacji, ale nie wiem czy tutaj nie chodzi raczej o etyczne aspekty "definiowania zasad organizacji konkursów i selekcjii kandydatów". Po ustaleniu odpowiedniego regulaminu można już oczywiście szukać kandydatów przez "vacancy advertising"".

When you see "rozpisano/ogłoszono konkurs na stanowisko dyrektora..." A UK recruiter wouldn't normally say "a competition for the post of director has been announced" but "applications for the post of director are invited" or "we wish to advertise a vacancy for the post of director". Of course it's only one of the steps in the recruitment process. I worked in medical recruitment so this was my bread and butter for a few years ...

neutral Jacek Kloskowski : I beg to differ, as I see "Advertising a vacancy" as a part of a bigger process to fill a position (e.g. recruitment process). There is also candidate screeening, selection criteria etc.
