Trial version failure ("the trial has now expired")

Hello everyone,

I am trying to install the "30 day trial version" but I get the message "trial has now expired".
It is the first time I install this.
Could someone help me on this please?

Hi Layla,

Did you download SDL Trados trial version from a trusted site? Please check.
Another possibility can't be ignored. Are you sure that you have downloaded it from your unique IP address? Please check. If once it downloaded by anybody from the same IP address before 30 days, then the trial version will not work as that IP address is marked.

Try to download it from any other IP address. Hope this will work.

Yes, I dwnloaded SDL Trados from the official website. And for the first time as far as I know.
Ironically, I am receiving the automatic tutorials to "help me start".

I can’t believe anyone in 2011 would still do this kind of check. With almost everyone given dynamic addresses and some even behind NAT’s, this kind of check have been invalid for years.

This is of course wrong information so you are basing your comments an incorrect statement. I think the problem Layla has might be connected to the date on her computer. The license will be looking to start from todays date and if the computer isn't there yet then the software won't license.

Worth checking for starters anyway.

I'm afraid the date is correct.
I have to say, that after 2 unsuccessful attempts, I turned to the free version of Wordfast...

Problem with SDL's settings? Feb 11, 2011

This is a problem I also have expericenced (even if the date is correct). Perhaps it would be worth for SDL to look into this issue, for not to losing customers. I would thought it would not be so hard to copy settings from most software offering 30-days trial (never had similar problem) or even the trial version of Workbench.
